HOPE AND SOUL NEWS

In our June newsletter I mentioned the arrival of our summer volunteers Abby and Rhea who generously gave up two weeks of their time to volunteer with us here in Arusha, Tanzania.

June is the month for our equivalent of a ‘summer holiday’ here in Tanzania, with most children having just over four weeks of break from school.

Well, the administration responsibilities involved with running a charity sure do like to test my patience and consume my time.

Starting with a very deceptive photo of a watermelon and cabbage in our Hope and Soul daycare store! I can assure you, both are an above average size (compared to UK supermarket standards) and provide enough watermelon and cabbage for all of our twenty two children and five staff for the week.

February 3rd was a day of celebration for Jenipha our social worker as her dream came true - we bought a printer!

January really is the longest month of the year, right? Although now realising we are almost half way through February the rest of the year looks set to keep us on our toes!
